Russian-British Workshop on New Advanced Materials and Systems for Photonics and Sensors

Under the British Council Researcher Links scheme we will be holding a workshop on the above theme in Novosibirsk between 17 and 20 March 2014. The workshop is being coordinated by Dr Alex Rozhin (Aston University) and Dr Alexander Plekhanov (Institute of Automation and Electrometry SB RAS) and will have contributions from other leading researchers: Prof Tamara Basova (Nikolaev Institute of Inorganic Chemistry, Novosibirsk), Prof Vladimir Shelkovnikov (Novosibirsk Institute of Organic Chemistry SB RAS), Prof Sergey Atutov (Institute of Automation and Electrometry SB RAS), Prof Sergey Turitsyn (Director of Aston Institute of Photonic Technologies).

We are now inviting Early Career Researchers from the UK and Russia to apply to attend this workshop. Travel, accommodation and visa expenses of UK participants will be covered by the British Council. Travel and accommodation costs of Russian participants who will be selected to participate in the workshop and are not based in Novosibirsk will be covered by the Institute of Automation and Electrometry SB RAS and Novosibirsk State University. The Laboratory of non-linear photonics of Novosibirsk State University is a co-sponsor of the event. Please note that Russian participants will need to arrange accommodation and travel themselves; these expenses will be reimbursed after holding the workshop (e.g. in April 2014).
