Social program

According to the established tradition, the conference program assumes visits to facilities for the production of biological materials, products of fine and organic synthesis from renewable raw materials, as well as factories for processing waste into energy (Waste-to-Energy - WtE).

Montenegro relies largely on imports to meet its energy needs. The predominant energy source is oil, which comes in its entirety from other countries. Renewables now are the second most important energy source being hydropower the most important domestic source of energy. Since more than one third of the territory is forests, biomass is one of the most potential renewable energy sources. As Waste-to-energy (WtE) processing technologies also play an important role in meeting the future needs of the world, it is becoming an attractive business option. Therefore, in addition to forest biomass, resources such as municipal solid waste, sewage and animal by-products are used.
